About

I gained a passion for computers just before the PC era when the 286 processors from Intel appeared. I was in gymnazium school and I received as a gift a Home Computer – called HC 91. It hadn’t any storage memory, it only had 64 kB of RAM, 16 KB of ROM memory and a Z80-A processor at 3,5 MHz. It came with a Spectrum OS and Basic. I played some games, written in BASIC language. To LOAD them in the memory you supposed to have a tape player where the information was stored. After 5-6 minutes of a particular noise your game was loaded and you could play. Few games had the option to save the stage where you were in a game and you should save it to the same tape where you had some space. However, since that time I enjoyed writing small lines of code in BASIC and some tricks.

Now the IT technology has incredibly evolved. Now we have SAN’s, Virtualization, Server CLOUDS , GRID and Software that runs on Multiple Server Architecture, Operating Systems like FreeBSD, Solaris, Linux/ Unix and Microsoft Windows. We are talking now about Terra’s of memory and physical storage. Complex networks have appeared, internet was born. Servers and Data Centers became to raise all over the world. Technology has increased exponentially in the IT area.

Complexity level at this point is high. To be a good specialist in the IT area you need years and years of work experience with different types of technologies. As system administrator you can’t stay fixed in a position much time. You need to stay in touch with the rest of the world and with the technologies that are emerging.

This site is referred to system administrators and people who want to learn some things about system administration. I will address specific problems and things that I encounter in my area of work and I hope that these will help you in your tasks too.
